Working for the Whaley Bridge Area by:

• Promoting high standards of planning and architecture
• Stimulating public interest in and care for the beauty, history and character of the area and its surroundings.
• Securing the preservation, protection. development and improvement of features of historic or public interest

By "the Whaley Bridge Area" we mean the area administered by Whaley Bridge Town Council, which is Fernilee, Taxal, Horwich, Whaley, Hockerley, Bridgemont, Yeardsley and Furness Vale. Full details are set out in our constitution.

For a review of our activities, see the chairman's report for 2007/08. The AGM will be in the Mechanics' Institute, Market Street, 18:45 on 5th December 2008.

The Society welcomes new members. The annual subscription is £4 and £2 for the unwaged. Everyone is welcome to join but we are particularly eager for new members who will play an active role in the Society's affairs.

Volunteers for the Rights of Way Section, a History Section and an Environment Section are sought.
